G.STAR's 2021 Science Stars Summer Camp

Updated: Oct 24, 2021

We are so excited to announce our very first summer camp! Information can be found below!

Participants:

This camp welcomes 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade boys and girls. As much as we love younger elementary school students, we feel that this camp is best suited for older children.

Daily Schedule:

9:30 - Introduction to the day of camp ahead!

9:45 - Present an influential female scientist to the group

10:00 - Introduction to experiment of the day

10:15 - Brainstorm the reactions and the cause of these reactions before the experiment

10:25 - Tech break – stretch, get water, etc.

10:30 - Experiment time! All experiments will be instructed by counselors.

11:00 - Quick clean up

11:05 - Kahoot and trivia

11:25 - Conclusion of camp and preface tomorrow

11:30 - End of camp

Materials Drop – Off or Shipment:

We will have all material sent to your door at least a week before camp. The materials will be in a box with experiments in bags, distinguished by day.

Liability:

We ask all parents to please sign a waiver once they have registered and paid. You will agree that G.STAR’s Science Stars Virtual Summer Camp is NOT responsible for injuries to your child and/or damages done to their surroundings.

Payment:

All payments will be through Venmo, independent from the website. Please be sure to Venmo YEANKEE-YONG to secure your child’s spot in camp. If not, we, regretfully, can’t reserve the spot.

Maximum Capacity:

We offer a maximum of 25 spots per session to ensure quality. If a session is full, please email us to be put on the waitlist and we will definitely notify you if a spot opens up.

Connection Requirements:

We will be using Zoom throughout the camp, so please make sure your child’s zoom is set up and working. Many students already have a zoom account set up because of online school. The link to the zoom will be sent prior to the camp session.

About The Camp Conductors:

G.STAR (Girls in Science, Technology, and Research) was founded at Westlake High School in the year 2019 to show the girls growing up and the people around us that we, as girls, have the capabilities to shape the world to become a better place regardless of our gender through studying science, technology, and research.

We are looking forward to an incredibly fun and educational week with your children! Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
