Hey there, STEM enthusiasts! This summer, G.STAR brought a little STEM magic to the kids at Dell’s Children's Hospital. We created educational STEM videos to encourage kids to explore and learn more about different career fields. Team members paired up to create videos on a range of topics including...
Plants
Weather
Introduction to Energy
Introduction to Chemistry
Physics
Bubbleology: The Study of Bubbles
The Process Once we coordinated with staff at Dell it was time to start brainstorming and planning! Club members teamed up and started with creating an engaging slideshow and brainstorming easy-to-follow experiments. We each took on different roles to plan, film, and edit each of the videos and inspire the brave children of our community. These videos included interactive activities and experiments that explained the concepts in an easy-to-understand and entertaining way. For example, the following slides broke down some of the complex ideas for kids to understand. The concept of light refraction can be seen in everyday life and makes so much more sense after the connection is made. Our summer project helped the children experience and understand different aspects of their lives.

Sharing the Joy The best part of this adventure was sending the videos to a Dell staff member who broadcasted them on the special Dell network (DCTV) and knowing that our project was able to have an impact on someone’s life. Looking back, this was an amazing way to conclude the summer and continue our goal of empowering female participation in science, technology, and research. So excited about the upcoming opportunities and experiences this year!
