Girls in Science, Technology, And Research, otherwise known as G.STAR is a club in Westlake High School. G.STAR focuses on the involvement of females in the participation of the STEAM field. One of the best ways is to encourage participation in the annual Austin Energy Science Fair.

We have been mentoring students in West-Ridge Middle School, providing guidance on project ideas, preparation for the science fair and presentation skills.

During this year's science fair, the founder of G.STAR received the Dell Center Healthy Living Health Innovation Award for her project "A Study on the Abstinence-Induced Withdrawal Behavior of Planarians with Different Types of Vaping Liquid". One of the students G.STAR coached received 5th place in Physics and Astronomy.
